Women in Action Awards postponed from Aug. 27; additional nominations welcome

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Carbondale's third annual Women in Action Ceremony, originally scheduled for today, Aug. 27, has been postponed in order to give people more time to submit nominations for the awards.

The awards, presented in collaboration with Network Empowering Women, recognize the "everyday heroes who lead, inspire and serve at SIU and in the community by working to overcome racism and advocate for equity and inclusion."

The new deadline to submit nominations online is Sept. 7. Details about the rescheduled awards presentation will be announced soon.
