Hall County awarded for excellence in financial reporting

Hall County Financial Services has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report for Fiscal Year 2023.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, an award received by Hall County for 32 consecutive years.

"This recognition is a direct reflection of the sound fiscal leadership of the Hall County Board of Commissioners and the dedication and hard work of County staff," Hall County Financial Services Director Taylor Samples said. "Attaining the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence is another example of Hall County setting the standard for excellent local government services, and I want to thank those who helped us reach this status for the past 32 years in service to our citizens."

The FY 2023 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
