Virtual Assisted Living Feedback Forum to be Held Sept. 10

COLUMBUS, Ohio - To ensure every Ohioan has the opportunity to share their experiences with assisted living in the state, the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) is announcing that it will hold a virtual Assisted Living Feedback Forum for people who could not attend one of the six in-person sessions.

ODA's virtual Assisted Living Feedback Forum will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 3-4 p.m. EDT. Like the in-person events, this virtual session is open to assisted living facility residents, family members, staff, administrators, and any other residents who wish to provide feedback about assisted living in Ohio.

Click here to register [Sept. 10, 3-4 p.m.]

Registration for this virtual event is limited. Those who are interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible to secure their spot.

Accommodations will include American Sign Language and CART (live captioning). Requests for additional accommodations can be made by emailing [email protected].

During the virtual forum, Ohioans will be able to share their experiences in selecting an assisted living facility. Then, attendees will be able to view a prototype of "Version 2.0" of what is currently called Ohio's Nursing Home Quality Navigator.

The Navigator, announced and launched in February at a press conference by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and ODA Director Ursel J. McElroy, is an online tool providing users with detailed information about nursing homes across the state in one convenient digital location. Navigator Version 2.0, set to be released later this year, will be updated to include assisted living facilities, among other features.

Insights from this virtual listening session will be integrated with feedback provided at the six in-person Feedback Forums held across the state to help improve future versions of the Navigator.
