NEWS BRIEF: Colusa County Transit Offers Free Rides on Election Day

Colusa County Transit is pleased to announce a special "Free Fare Day" on Election Day, providing complimentary rides to Colusa County's two Vote Centers and Ballot Drop-Box on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. This initiative is paid for through an independent "Free Fare Day" fund, and supports community access to voting by ensuring transportation is available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Election Day at no cost.

The November 5thPresidential General Election is an all-mail ballot election with two Vote Centers and a Ballot Drop-Box for ballot return:

Hall of Records Vote Center

At this location , ballots can be dropped off beginning October 7thfrom 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Education Village Vote Center (Multipurpose Room)

499 Marguerite Street

Williams, CA 95987

This location is open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day only.

Drop-Box

260 6thStreet

Colusa, CA 95932

Located in the alley next to the Colusa Police Station.

Please note that Colusa County Transit drivers cannot handle ballots. Passengers will be dropped off to deposit their ballot and need to call for a return ride if needed. Drivers are also unable to wait in line with their vehicles while passengers cast votes.

County Transit operates a dial-a-ride system with fixed routes serving Colusa, Williams, Arbuckle, Maxwell, Princeton, Grimes, Sites, and Stonyford.
