Statement by NYU Spokesperson John Beckman on Appellate Division Ruling in Zoning Case

"NYU is very pleased with the Appellate Division's ruling. NYU filed the case in 2022 to oppose a provision of the NoHo/SoHo rezoning that violated the Cornell doctrine and improperly excluded higher education uses from the rezoned area. With the challenge to our standing now resolved by the Appellate Division, we can proceed to the heart of the matter. The University looks forward to proceeding to defend its rights under the law."
