Metro-North Railroad Increasing Weekend Hudson Line Service to Meet Heightened Demand for Fall Foliage Day Trips

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Metro-North Railroad is increasing Metro-North service on the Hudson Line this weekend in response to record demand for day trip leaf-peeping. The railroad is adding three more fall foliage trains on the Hudson Line on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 27, making it the most fall-foliage service offered in the railroad's history. Metro-North expects another weekend of high ridership to its popular Hudson Line destinations and is adding more trains than ever to its weekend service.

Extra trains will depart Grand Central Terminal (GCT) at 8:16 a.m., 9:59 am and 11:39 a.m., stopping at Harlem-125 St and then running express to Peekskill, Manitou, Garrison, Cold Spring, Breakneck Ridge and Beacon. Returning to Manhattan in the afternoon, extra trains will depart Beacon at 2:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., making all stops to Peekskill and then express to Harlem-125 St and Grand Central Terminal.

With the addition of these five extra trains, Metro-North is providing twice-hourly service to Upper Hudson stations between 8:16 a.m. and 11:50 am, with three trains departing GCT between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m., and returning from the Upper Hudson between 2:45 p.m. and 6:52 p.m., with hourly service outside of these times. Extra Hudson Line service is also planned for the weekend of Nov. 2.
