Ambassador Tigran Galstyan had a meeting with State Secretary Luminița Popescu, Head of the National Agency for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men in Romania

On 2 July, Tigran Galstyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Romania had a meeting with State Secretary Luminița Popescu, Head of the National Agency for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men in Romania.

During the meeting the perspectives of Armenian-Romanian cooperation in the field of human rights and especially women's rights protection were discussed. The progress made in both countries in the field of guaranteeing human rights equality and excluding discrimination, yet existing challenges and the ways of addressing them were touched upon as well.

Both sides highlighted the continuous growth of women's involvement in all spheres of social and political life, as well as the activation of relations between Armenian and Romanian business women and civil societies.

In this regard, the interlocutors emphasized with satisfaction the launch of the Armenian SafeYOU startup in Romania, aimed at combating violence against women at the beginning of the previous month and its active cooperation with the Agency.
