What: Royal Victoria Marathon

    Starts and finishes at Willows Beach Park, Oak Bay

    Thrifty's Kids Race - 10 a.m.

    5km Race - 9 a.m.

  • Sunday, October 13, 2024

    Start and finish at the Legislative Grounds, downtown Victoria

    Marathon/Half Marathon - 8:15 a.m.

    8km Race - 7:15 a.m.

Getting to and from the event:

Visitors are encouraged to walk, bike or take transit to the event. There will be limited vehicle access downtown, so expect delays. Check BC Transit alerts for route changes. A secure bike valet will be available on the Legislature lawn.

Road Closures:

Belleville Street between Oswego and Government and Menzies Street between Belleville and Quebec will be closed from 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 12 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 13.

Menzies Street between Quebec and Superior will be closed from midnight on Sunday, October 12 until 10 a.m.

There will be limited vehicle access to the downtown core and rolling road closures along the race route on October 13 from midnight to 3 p.m.

Dallas Road (including vehicle access to Clover Point) will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Plan ahead to avoid delays as driving in or out of downtown won't be possible during this time.

Parking:

No parking will be allowed on the race routes. Vehicles parked in restricted areas will be towed. Parking will reopen after the final runners pass through each section.

Traffic Lanes:

Both lanes on Newport Avenue (beside Windsor Park) will remain open.
