NOPD Seeking Person of Interest in Shooting Death of Three Year Old

The NOPD is seeking a Person of Interest in the death of a three-year-old boy in the Sixth District.

Investigators want to speak with Tatisha C. Refuge (pictured, Black female DOB: 5-9-1977) in connection with the shooting that occurred in the 2200 block of Willow Street on Saturday evening (November 30, 2024).

According to investigators, Refuge is the owner of the loaded firearm that the victim found in the home and used to accidentally shoot himself. The shooting occurred while the child's family, including his mother were visiting Refuge at her home.

Refuge is wanted for questioning about the incident at this time and investigators are asking her to turn herself in.

NOPD Child Abuse detectives are still actively investigating this incident. No further information is available.
