Chancellor's Award

The Chancellor's Award is emblematic of UW-Parkside's top graduating student.

Trever Schneider | Biological Sciences

Trever Schneider majored in Biological Sciences and minored in Chemistry for Pre-Health Professionals. He was named to both the Dean's and Provost's Lists every semester and served as the President of the Molecular Biology Student Organization.

Trever was active in undergraduate research. He presented his independent research focused on biochemistry and molecular biology at the state-wide Research in the Rotunda event as well as at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research.

Trever is an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. This accomplishment is the culmination of years of hard work. He also actively volunteers at homeless shelters, picking up trash, and assisting with church events.

He is also a Certified Nursing Assistant and has completed a professional internship in a healthcare facility as well as worked at an assisted living center. After Graduation, Trever plans to attend medical school with the ultimate goal of becoming a doctor.

Outstanding Graduates - alphabetical order

Each year, faculty members of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside nominate students in the senior class to receive the university's Outstanding Graduate Award. A committee of faculty and staff then select the recipients.

Grace Larson | Sport Management

Grace Larson majored in Sport Management and earned Dean's and Provost's lists honor every semester at UW-Parkside.

Grace has taken multiple Community-Based Learning courses and has helped facilitate a number of events through these courses, including a volunteer opportunity at the Grace Welcome Center Food Pantry.

The Sport Management major requires 600 hours of fieldwork, and Grace excelled in her time as an intern. She split her time between two internships and gained practical experience in Customer Service, Operations, Events, Administration, and Promotions.

Grace helped restart the Parkside Sport Management Student Organization and served in various roles including secretary, marketing, and president. She also served as the Vice President of the Parkside Volunteer Club.

Grace also maintained several part-time jobs while completing her fieldwork requirements including working with Parkside Athletics, Dunham Sports, and Wisconsin Brewing Company Stadium. Grace also volunteers as a Foster Caregiver for the Wisconsin Humane Society as well as at her church.

Carly Nieman | Business Management

Carly Nieman majored in Business management. She has completed multiple community-based projects including editing an employee handbook for United Way and analyzing enrollment data for the Kenosha Area Soccer League.

Carly not only earned the prestigious Girl Scout National Gold Award for a service project, but also mentors girls that are obtaining their Gold Award. She earned this prestigious award for a service project that addressed educational needs in a low-income school.

She also served as a Kids Ministry Co-Coordinator at her church and volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, along with supporting teachers and NJHS advisors at Lance Middle School.

Carly has interned with Engage Africa, a ministry in Rustenburg, South Africa, where she has returned multiple times to volunteer. Her work there includes community outreach, public speaking, and providing essential business insights to support the organization's growth. Carly's plan after graduation is to continue her mission work in South Africa with Engage Africa.

Liam Simpson | Communication

Liam Simpson majored in communication and a certificate in digital media & production and is highly regarded for his work as a videographer, filmmaker, and leader within the College of Arts and Humanities. His dedication to media production has made him an invaluable asset, particularly in Ranger Studio, where he enhances accessibility through his technical expertise.

Liam has worked closely with faculty members, notably in a podcasting class and on various video projects. He also participated in an internship where he gained experience in live streaming and video projects.

Liam played a key role in the inaugural Cinema Showcase at UW-Parkside, the university's first film festival, and helped produce high-quality content for the Center for the Community and Business Engagement department. In 2024, he was entrusted with leading Ranger Studio during a faculty member's sabbatical, further showcasing his leadership and technical abilities. His contributions continue to shape the communication department's media landscape.
