For the CO2 emissions reduction targets to be achieved by FY2031, Toyota Industries has set new targets, including a 42% reduction (compared to FY2022) of CO2 emissions from the company's own production and other activities for Scope 1 and 2 and a 30% reduction (compared to FY2019) of CO2 emissions from the use of products sold by the company for Scope 3 (Category 11), and will continue to promote initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions.
Target | Base year | FY2031 target |
---|---|---|
Scope 1*2 and 2*3 | FY2022 | 42% reduction |
Scope 3 (Category 11)*4 | FY2019 | 30% reduction |

Under the Global Environmental Commitment, which aims at building a sustainable society which enables the harmonious coexistence of nature with our daily lives, Toyota Industries has set a goal of achieving zero global CO2 emissions in its long-term vision, Ideal State in 2050. Based on this vision, Toyota Industries has formulated the five-year Seventh Environmental Action Plan (FY2022-2026) and is working on environmental activities.
To ensure the steady promotion of this initiative, Toyota Industries has set new science-based, specific numerical targets to be achieved by FY2031 for the reduction of CO2 emissions from production activities to the product use stage for Scope 1, 2, and 3. Toyota Industries will further develop and introduce to the market new technologies, including energy conservation in production activities, innovation in production technology, utilization of renewable energy through the introduction of solar power generation facilities, high efficiency and weight reduction in products, the development of parts for electrified vehicles such as HEVs, PHEVs, BEVs, and FCEVs, and fuel cell lift trucks that run on hydrogen and lift trucks that run on carbon-neutral fuels.
By working to reduce CO2 emissions both at the company and throughout the supply chain, Toyota Industries will solve customers' problems and contribute to building a sustainable society.
