As the clocks go back and the season changes, Heathrow announces nine new airline routes and expanded services for passengers
Those looking for winter sun or a festive break can choose from a range of destinations including Tromsø, Sälen, and Delhi
The new and additional routes enhance Heathrow's status as 'most connected airport in the world', cementing the UK Hub as vital in connecting the whole country to global opportunities
As the new winter travel season approaches, officially starting on 27 October, Heathrow is introducing nine additional destinations to its ever-growing list. The routes reflect the UK Hub's ongoing commitment to fostering international trade, tourism, and cultural exchange, ensuring that the UK stays at the heart of global growth.
Whether passengers are seeking the breathtaking views of the Northern Lights, the rich cultural heritage of China's cities, or the vibrant energy of Delhi, our new destinations and expanded services offer something for everyone.
Heathrow's Chief Customer Officer Ross Baker said: "Heathrow is already the most connected airport in the world which is a huge advantage for the UK, but we're always on the lookout to expand our global connections. We are proud to offer new connections and to give passengers and British businesses even more opportunities to explore new corners of the world from Heathrow."

Tromsø - British Airways
Looking for a true winter wonderland? Tromsø, often dubbed the 'Gateway to the Artic', is the perfect destination for adventurers looking to witness the Northern Lights and explore the unique landscapes of the Arctic Circle. During the Polar Night (November to January), the sun doesn't rise at all in Tromsø, offering endless opportunities for aurora spotting! Want to see the lights for yourself? Flights start on 1 December from Terminal 5.
Tromsø and Sälen - SAS (Scandinavian Airlines)
Expanding further into Scandinavia, SAS will introduce direct flights to Sälen, which boasts several alpine ski resorts. Most notably, Sälen is the starting point of the Vasaloppet, the world's oldest and longest cross-country ski race, with over 15,000 participants in the main race alone. Whether you fancy a winter wonderland trip or see yourself as more of a competitive skier, flights start from 2 February.
Delhi - Air Canada
Connecting the UK with India's capital, the route makes it easier than ever to experience the rich history and culture of Delhi. The city is home to the largest spice market in Asia - Khari Baoli, which has been running since the 17th century. If you fancy igniting your senses, routes start from 27 October at Terminal 2.
Jeddah - British Airways
Jeddah is a city that seamlessly blends ancient heritage with modernity, with thanks to its history as a port and trading city. Jeddah is home to the tallest fountain in the world, the King Fahd Fountain, which shoots water up to 312 meters into the air. Whether you would like to see the marvel for itself or relax along the 4km Red Sea waterfront, British Airways have flights leaving from 2 November.
Xi'an, Chongqing and Tianjin - Tianjin Airlines
With the addition of three major Chinese cities, passengers can now experience the diverse cultural, historical, and culinary richness of China more easily than ever. For those wanting a challenge, Chongqing is nicknamed 'The Mountain City' due to its steep hills and rivers. Flying all year round from Terminal 3.
Orlando - Delta Air Lines
Known as the theme park capital of the world, Orlando offers sunshine, adventure, and fun for the whole family. Orlando's Walt Disney World Resort covers 25,000 acres, making it around the same size as the city of San Fransisco. See you real soon in Terminal 3 from 28 October, folks!
Bengaluru - Air India
Bengaluru is the capital of Karnataka state and one of India's largest and fastest-growing cities, known for its striking Victorian-era architecture and quirky independent cafes. For those looking to explore the flourishing dining and shopping scene or the city's well renowned lakes, flights begin on 27th October.
