From Christina Turner-Noteware, P.E., Assistant Director, Dallas Park and Recreation Planning, Design, and Facilities Services

Dallas Park and Recreation wants to reassure the public and Dallas City Council that the White Rock Lake Trail is safe and is not in imminent threat of failure.

The Park and Recreation Department has been evaluating this erosion issue at the lake and adjacent to the trail for the last year and a half and is currently working to develop a permanent solution to the erosion issue at the edge of the shoreline.

Erosion issues are common occurrences in the park system and are monitored regularly. Safety is the top priority and staff will always take quick action to ensure the park system is safe and can be enjoyed by all Dallas residents.
