GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose. This MARADMIN announces the
modernization of the Supply Chain Material Management occupational
specialties.
2. Background. The Deputy Commandant for Installations and
Logistics (DC I&L), in coordination with Combat Development and
Integration (CD&I), Manpower & Reserve Affairs (M&RA), and Training
and Education Command (TECOM), evaluated the Marine Corps Supply
Chain Material Management occupational field. They determined that
modernization is needed to improve supply capabilities to better
support the Force Design requirements in reference (A). The analysis
resulted in the merging of Primary Military Occupational Specialties
(PMOS), 3043 Supply Chain and Material Management Specialist, and
3051 Inventory Management Specialist at the rank of Sergeant to the
combined Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 3047, Supply Chain
Manager, which will include Sergeant through Master Gunnery Sergeant.
Supply Chain Managers enhance the Marine Corps by ensuring timely and
efficient delivery of critical resources and equipment to Marines in
various operational theaters. This efficiency improves readiness by
reducing downtime and ensuring that Marines have what they need when
and where they need it. Overall, effective Supply Chain Management
contributes to a more agile and prepared Marine Corps Installation
and Logistics Enterprise (MCILE) capable of fulfilling its
sustainment requirements in reference(B).
3. In coordination with CD&I, M&RA, and TECOM changes to the Supply
Chain Management field are reflected in the FY25 MOS Manual.
4. Coordinating Instructions.
4.a. Effective 1 October 2024, Marines with the rank of Sergeant
through Master Gunnery Sergeant with PMOS 3043 or 3051 will be
reclassified to PMOS 3047 (Supply Chain Manager).
4.b. M&RA (MMIB) will report unit diary entries to convert active
component Sergeant through Master Gunnery Sergeant, with PMOS 3043
or 3051 to PMOS 3047. Reserve Affairs Management will convert reserve
component Sergeant through Master Gunnery Sergeant, with PMOS 3043
or 3051 to PMOS 3047. These Marines will be identified in a
reclassification spreadsheet provided by the (30XX) Occupational
Field Sponsor (OccFld) to Manpower Management Integration Branch
(MMIB). No action by is required by the individual Marine.
5. Training.
5.a. Entry-level training requirements for PMOS 3043 and 3051 remain
unchanged.
5.a.1. Beginning FY26, Sergeants must complete the Supply Chain
Management Intermediate Course (M0330G1/M) to qualify for promotion
to Staff Sergeant.
5.b. After promotion to Staff Sergeant, it is recommended to attend
the Supply Chain Management Advanced Course (M0330A1) at
Camp Lejeune, NC.
5.c. Marines returning from a Special Duty Assignment, meritoriously
promoted to Staff Sergeant, or Marines in receipt of orders to a
supply or warehouse chief billet, are recommended to attend Supply
Chain Management Advance Course (M0330A1) at Camp Lejeune, NC.
6. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
7. Any questions should be directed to POC 3 and POC 4 as indicated
above.
