Richfield Springs Troopers respond to one-vehicle fatal

On August 14, 2024, at approximately 4:42 p.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs responded to a fatal one vehicle crash on Gulf Road in the town of Richfield.

An investigation at the scene indicates that the operator, identified as Gary D. Elliott, age 72 of Richfield Springs, NY failed to negotiate a sharp curve, went off the shoulder into an earth embankment and struck a tree.

Elliott did not survive the crash.
