Nonpartisan League documentary screening Oct. 12 at the Pembina State Museum

October 4, 2024

PEMBINA, N.D. - The public is invited to attend the screening of "The Rise and Fall of the Nonpartisan League" at the Pembina State Museum on Saturday, Oct. 12. Free screenings of "Part 2: Storms on the Horizon" will begin at 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Runtime is 60 minutes. Pop and popcorn will be available for sale in the Museum Store.

This Prairie Public Broadcasting film unravels a compelling chapter in the struggle of farmers. In the early 1900s, North Dakota farmers were determined to control their own economic futures. Under the leadership of Nonpartisan League founder A.C. Townley, farmers involved in this small protest movement took control of both houses of the state legislature within two years.

This screening is the second in a three-part series. The final part will be shown Saturday, Nov. 9. Learn more about the Nonpartisan League in the North Dakota Studies topics at bit.ly/SHSND-NPL.

There is a $2 charge to visit the observation deck. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
