The Severe Weather Risk Assessment Unit (CERI), meeting this afternoon to assess the weather situation, is issuing a warning of thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds, which could affect the whole country.
Between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., thunderstorms may occur in the Grand Duchy, accompanied by wind gusts of up to 90 to 100 km/h, or even more locally. This area of thunderstorms will pass through in a relatively short space of time. Once the storms have passed through, the situation will calm down fairly quickly.
The authorities are warning the public to be vigilant, especially when taking part in seasonal outdoor activities (camping, events, etc.), not to take shelter under trees, especially not under isolated trees, and to avoid walking in the woods. It is also advisable to shelter objects that are sensitive to the wind (garden furniture, parasols, etc.).
