Kessler Mountain Regional Park trail closures Nov. 2-3

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - As part of this weekend's Beast of Burden event at Kessler Mountain Regional Park, several park trails will be closed to the public on Saturday, Nov. 2, and Sunday, Nov. 3.

The 24-hour endurance race begins at noon Saturday and ends at noon Sunday. The event is being held in partnership with Ozark Off-Road Cyclists and the Ozark Trail Runners, and profits will go toward continued preservation and trail development on Kessler Mountain.

The following trails will be closed to the public for competition from 12 p.m. Saturday to 12 p.m. Sunday:

  • Saddle Up
  • Chinkapin Oak
  • Last Call
  • Terrapin Station
  • Trent Trail
  • Fayetteville Traverse
  • Crazy Mary (partial)

Kessler Mountain Regional Park's natural-surface trails comprise approximately 20 miles and range from easy to difficult and very difficult. The park is connected to the Razorback Regional Greenway via the Cato Springs Trail.
