Registration opens for Winter Programs at Extended Day schools

During the 2024 Winter Break, for the first time ever, 20 Extended Day/Extended Year (ED/EY) Schools will be open for a fun, free winter camp program for students!

Winter Break Camp will be available for five days over Winter Break and will serve up to 2,000 students.

The Camp will be open from 8:30AM-5:30PM.

Interested families with children who attend one of the 20 participating schools can find more information and how to register from their school's principal or ED/EY provider.

Winter Break Camp is possible thanks to Mayor Parker's Extended Day/Extended Year pilot initiative, jointly funded by the City of Philadelphia and the School District of Philadelphia.

Participating schools offer free before and after school care, as well as free care during Winter and Spring breaks and six weeks during the summer, featuring enrichment opportunities provided by trusted community groups.

Across the 20 District-run schools in the pilot (see below for list of participating schools), Extended Day nearly doubled the seats available for after school care to 2,555 as well as introduced a before school care program serving up to 1,400 students.
