DCCC Launches Mobile Billboard Campaign Targeting Brandon Williams, Who Celebrated Overturning Roe v. Wade

New billboard will be placed in NY-22 using Williams' own words celebrating SCOTUS' decision to rip away abortion rights

To kick off the General Election, the DCCC is launching a mobile billboard campaign targeting Brandon Williams and vulnerable House Republicans who celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade, paving the way for states and the federal government to enact draconian abortion restrictions.

Using his own words, the five-figure buy - which will run during the week of the two-year anniversary of the Dobbs decision - targets Brandon Williams, an extreme politician who said the U.S. Supreme Court's dangerous decision to eliminate women's reproductive freedoms nationwide was "a monumental victory."

Just this Congress, Williams has worked with extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene to pass four anti-abortion bills:

  • H.R. 26 - Targeting doctors who perform abortions

  • H.R. 6914 - Targeting college students' right to essential health care

  • H.R. 6918 - Allowing federal funds to target women who seek essential health care and spread misinformation

  • H.R. 2670 - Trying to block reproductive health care access for members of the armed services

Williams has also cosponsored H.R. 7, a bill to overturn New York state law guaranteeing access to reproductive health care in private health insurance plans.

Recent DCCC battleground polling across 67 Congressional districts shows the issue of abortion is more likely to drive voter choice than any other: 36% of voters would not vote for a candidate for congress if they disagreed with them on abortion rights. Read the new memo from the DCCC showing abortion rights remain a top issue motivating voters ahead of November.

DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
"Brandon Williams will stop at nothing to ban abortion and restrict reproductive rights nationwide. Over the next five months, we will ensure that Central New York and Mohawk Valley families do not forget that it was Williams who praised Donald Trump's Supreme Court for ending reproductive freedom as we know it. The DCCC will continue to hold Brandon Williams accountable for his shameless, extreme attacks against fundamental rights and freedoms."
