County offices closed for Thanksgiving; some parks to reopen this weekend

Pinellas County Government offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28-29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. This includes departments under the Board of County Commissioners, the Property Appraiser, the Tax Collector, the Clerk's office and the Supervisor of Elections office.

Parks & Conservation Resources

• The Parks administrative office, Heritage Village and Education Centers will be closed Thursday and Friday.
• Fort De Soto Park, the Fred Howard Park beach area, Lake Seminole Park, Sand Key Park, War Veterans' Memorial Park boat ramp facility and all County beach access areas remain closed to the public due to storm damage.
• All other County parks and preserves, and portions of the Florida Botanical Gardens, will be open on Thanksgiving Day and closed Friday.

Parks storm recovery update:

• The Fort DeSoto Park boat ramp and causeway will reopen Saturday, Nov. 23, and will not close for the holiday.
• John S. Taylor Park will partially reopen Nov. 23 (the east side of the lake only). The disc golf area and other amenities will remain closed due to storm damage.
• War Veterans Park will partially reopen Nov. 23, but the boat ramp and other amenities remain closed.

Animal Services shelter

The offices and adoption center at Pinellas County Animal Services will be closed Thursday and Friday, but will be open Saturday.

Building and Development Review Services

Pinellas County Building and Development Review Services office locations will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Contractor Licensing

The Pinellas County Contractor Licensing office and the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board will be closed both days.

Disaster Recovery Center

The Disaster Recovery Center at the Enoch D. Davis Center in St. Petersburg will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Human Services

Pinellas County Human Services office locations will be closed.

Sixth Judicial Circuit courts

The courts of the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco) will not be in session except for first-appearance advisory hearings and emergency situations.

Solid Waste Disposal Complex

The Solid Waste Disposal Complex will be closed Thursday; it will be open Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Administration Building, Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Center and Swap Shop will be closed Thursday through Saturday.

Utilities

The Business and Customer Services Call Center and the lobby at 14 S. Fort Harrison will be closed. Customers can make payments online and can reach the answering service at (727) 464-4000 for emergencies.

Normal County operating hours will resume on Monday, Dec. 2.
