Upcoming grant application deadlines for students and faculty from RSP

The fall 2024 deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. for the following grant applications supported by Western's Office of Research and Sponsored programs.

For Undergraduate Students

The Undergraduate Research and Creative Opportunities Grant Programprovides up to $750 for students to engage in research, scholarly and creative work that has the potential to significantly impact the student's educational goals. Funding requests should be relevant to the student's work and represent support that is not available to the applicant through their academic department or college. Questions? Check out our FAQ.

For Graduate Students

The Graduate Research and Creative Opportunities Grant Programprovides up to $1,500 for students to engage in research, scholarly and creative work that could significantly impact their educational goals. Funding requests must be relevant to the student's individual work and represent support that is not available to the applicant through their academic department or college. Questions? For Faculty

The Faculty Summer Research and Creative Activities Grant Programand the provides faculty $7,000 in summer salary to engage in projects with potential to significantly advance their professional development and field of research, scholarly or creative work. Questions? Check out our FAQ.

The Faculty Summer Teaching Grants Programprovides faculty $7,000 in summer salary to engage in projects with the potential to significantly enhance instruction at the graduate or undergraduate level. Questions? Check out our FAQ.

The Pilot Project Grant Programoffers faculty up to $5,000 to seed projects with potential to open new long-term directions for research, creative expression, or scholarship at WWU.

The Western Innovation Training Fellowshipprovides a full-time summer stipend for students and funding for one year of research costs to support new scientific discoveries, build institutional capacity to translate research into practice, and inclusively expand student engagement in research. Faculty may nominate both graduate students and undergraduate students.

Applications for Manuscript Preparation(up to $2,500), Mini Grants(up to $2,000), and New Initiatives Grants(up to $10,000) applications are accepted at any time. Please allow 30 days from the time of submission for review and notification.
