Luxembourg Gender Finance Task Force announces action plan

The Gender Finance Task Force (GFTF) today announced its action plan. Launched in 2023 by the Ministry of Finance[1], the aim of the GFTF is to support, drive and stimulate gender finance in the Luxembourg financial centre and beyond.

The Gender Finance Task Force Action Plan sets out ambitious action points to advance gender finance in Luxembourg's financial centre, focusing on both "women in finance" and "finance for women". The action plan further seeks to identify opportunities for individual and collaborative actions between public and private actors.

Topics include promoting financial literacy and raising awareness of finance career opportunities among women and girls and enhancing mentorship and sponsorship opportunities for women in the financial sector. Additionally, the Task Force will develop a working definition for gender finance for Luxembourg, drive innovation and acceleration in gender finance, and encourage the development of financial products and services tailored to women's unique needs.

Minister Roth stresses: "We must do more to increase the representation of women in finance and consider gender perspectives in the development of financial products and services. As a Ministry, we will continue to work with decision makers of the financial sector and other stakeholders to develop actionable solutions and elevate Luxembourg into a center of excellence in gender finance."

Luxembourg has historically been at the forefront of sustainable finance and consistently reinforces its role as a pioneer and leader in this area. The GFTF Action Plan further underpins Luxembourg's commitment to embrace and advance the social dimensions of sustainable finance, along with other focus areas.
