Integrated team seizes counterfeit goods worth over R400, 000

CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape police remains committed to the fight against the scourge of counterfeit goods which poses a huge health risk to communities and furthermore impact negatively on businesses and the economy.

Members attached to the Provincial and National Counterfeit and Illicit goods in collaboration with brand holders and other stakeholders, armed with a search warrant, conducted integrated operations against the prevalence of counterfeit goods outlets in Sea Point, Kuilsrivier, Ottery and Milnerton during the past week which resulted in the seizure of counterfeit goods to the estimated value of R424 745-00.

The integrated team visited these undisclosed business premises and issued letters of demand where after they seized several counterfeit ELBAR vape and apple phone accessories.

These raids on outlets selling counterfeit goods and apparel will continue to curb this crime which have a detrimental effect on the economy of this country.
