On October 2, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., North District General Patrol officers were dispatched to a stabbing incident that occurred in the 800 block of Main Street. While en route, officers located a female, who matched the description of the suspect at the corner of Main Street and Dufferin Avenue, still observed to be brandishing an edged weapon. The female was arrested.
While on-scene, officers were approached by a 41-year-old male victim who advised that they had been stabbed. Officers located a 34-year-old malevictim nearby, who had also sustained an upper body as a result of being stabbed.
Officers provided emergency medical care to both victims, which included the use of a tourniquet for the 41-year-old victim. Both victims were transported to hospital, one in stable and the other in unstable condition. The 34-year-old male was later upgraded to stable.
The investigation has revealed that the female suspect had been walking outside in the rear of the 800 block of Main Street when a confrontation occurred with the 34-year-old male victim, escalating with the suspect stabbing the victim in the upper body. The suspect fled on foot in the same 800 block of Main Street, approached, and without provocation, proceeded to stab a 41-year-old male victim in the upper body before fleeing the area.
