Paving Project to Start Soon on Route 666 in Howe Township, Forest County

A $980,000 project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than a mile of Route 666 in Howe Township, Forest County is scheduled to begin soon.

The project will include paving 1.89 miles of roadway from Blue Jay Creek Road (Route 1003) to the Warren County line.

Work will also include roadway widening, tree trimming, drainage updates, pavement markings, and new guide rail.

Construction is expected to begin August 26, 2024, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed in October 2024.

Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers and should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions. Drivers should anticipate travel delays during active work hours.

The contractor is IA Construction Corporation of Franklin, PA. The contract cost is $977,777.77, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
