Serco receives ADF recognition

Serco has been recognised as a Veteran Employer of Choice by the Department of Veterans Affairs and inducted as a Gold Member in the Defence Reserves Supportive Employer Program by the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Reserves & Employer Support Division.

As a trusted partner of the ADF for more than 25 years, Serco is honoured to achieve both these prestigious recognitions, reaffirming its commitment to supporting those who have served and those who continue to serve the Australian nation.

Serco Defence Managing Director Clint Thomas, AM, CSC, said this dual recognition is a testament to Serco's commitment to providing meaningful employment and a supportive workplace environment for Defence Force veterans and reservists.

"Employing more than 700 reservists and veterans across Australia, we respect the immense value they bring to our teams and continue to foster an inclusive environment where they are set up for success."

Serco has been proactive in contributing to policy development and providing substantial support through various initiatives, such as:

Serving as a leading member of the Industry Advisory Committee on Veterans' Employment, contributing to the creation of Ministerial advice.
Establishing the Veterans, Reservists and Defence Families Advisory Committee that actively engages with our SercoVets community, to develop policy and systems to support and drive improvement initiatives across the business.

In addition to these initiatives, Serco's commitment to the veteran community includes:

Being a foundational signatory of the Veterans Employment Commitment with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Prioritising veteran-owned businesses when selecting supply chain partners, in line with the Australian Defence Industry Participation policy.
Financially supporting the Veterans Community Business Chamber and actively contributing to programmes that support veterans, such as Pathway programmes run by Soldier On, the RSL and HomeBaseSA.
Enabling mobility for Defence families by offering flexible job opportunities for ADF partners and spouses.

As a Gold Member of the Defence Reserves Supportive Employer Program and recognised by the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Veteran Employer of Choice, Serco continues to demonstrate supportive practices for Defence reservists and veterans transitioning to civilian roles.
