SAN FRANCISCO, Sunday, November 10, 2024 - Today, the Department of Elections issued the eighth preliminary election results reports of votes cast in the November 5, 2024, Consolidated General Election.

Today's preliminary results report includes 39,404 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots counted since the previous results report issued yesterday, November 9.

The 39,404 ballots included in today's preliminary results report represents the processing of approximately 157,616 cards since the ballot that each voter received was comprised of four cards.

Overall, since Wednesday, November 6, the Department has reported results from nearly 130,000 ballots, which represents the processing of approximately 520,000 cards.

The Department must still process and count approximately 42,000ballots. This estimate includes:

Vote-by-mail ballots: 22,000

Provisional ballots (cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center): 20,000

Department personnel will process and count ballots until 10 p.m. tonight. On Monday, November 11, ballot processing will occur from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Ballot processing is open to public observation in-person and via livestream at sfelections.org/observe.

The Department will next release preliminary results reports and an estimate of the number of remaining ballots on Monday, November 11, 4 p.m., which will be posted at www.sfelections.gov/results

When the Department issues results reports, Director John Arntz will be available to respond to questions from members of the public and the media outside of Room 48 in City Hall.
