August 20, 2024 -- Greenville educators and employers have again collaborated to expand the region's skilled workforce.

Prisma Health Center for Health and Life Sciences held a ribbon-cutting today at the Barton Campus of Greenville Technical College. The state-of-the-art facility will help produce 500 to 600 graduates annually, joining the region's thriving health care and life sciences sector.

A $1.5 million gift from Prisma Health, South Carolina's largest health care organization and the top employer of Greenville Tech graduates, made the new facility possible.

"The entrepreneurial spirit in Greenville is what drives our growing business and industry community," said Dr. Keith Miller, President of Greenville Tech. "It's a can-do attitude. People here know how to make things happen."

At 137,000-square-feet, the three-story center is the largest building on any of Greenville Tech's four campuses. The facility includes an Atomage Lab where students can dissect digital representations of the human body on life size screens. Suites for medical imaging, ultrasound and radiological technology are also available.
