Buffalo Woman Arraigned for Fatally Shooting Female Victim in City's Emerson Neighborhood

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that 39-year-old Shana A. Rowe of Buffalo was arraigned this afternoon before Buffalo City Court Judge Phillip Dabney, Jr. on one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class "A-I" felony).

It is alleged that on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the defendant intentionally shot the victim on the 100 block of Liddell Street in the City of Buffalo. The victim, a 43-year-old woman, was taken by ambulance to ECMC where she later died.

Rowe is scheduled to return on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. for a felony hearing. She was held without bail.

If convicted of the charge, Rowe faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

Acting DA Keane commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in this investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Justin H. Caldwell of the Homicide Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
