Chemung County Announces Second Public Workshop for Comprehensive Plan

Chemung County invites residents to participate in the second public workshop for its Comprehensive Plan, Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan, and Long-Range Transportation Plan. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Arnot Mall Event Center, 3300 Chambers Road South, Horseheads.

This important community event will present progress on the three plans since the first public meeting, share key findings from initial focus groups and other engagement activities, and seek public input on draft goals and strategies. Residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback on preliminary recommendations and priority projects.

"We're excited to share our progress and gather more input from our community," said Kevin Meindl, Chemung County Planning Commissioner. "These plans will shape the future of our county, and we want to ensure they reflect the needs and aspirations of all our residents."
