Modern Woodmen Financial Representative Wins Fraternal Excellence Award

Modern Woodmen of America, Rock Island, Illinois, has recognized Lisa Garver, financial representative from Ava, Illinois, as the winner of its nationalFraternal Excellence Award.

This annual honor is given to one Modern Woodmen financial representative from across the nation who demonstrates ideal fraternal behavior. Fraternalism is Modern Woodmen's way to give back to members and bring them together to make an impact in their local communities.

Lisa was chosen by a panel of judges at Modern Woodmen's headquarters. They reviewed her submitted questionnaire and took her community impact into consideration.

Lisa goes above and beyond for her community - making her an excellent recipient for this honor.

Over the years, she's facilitated many projects with Modern Woodmen members, including:

• Creating a playground on state fairgrounds.
• Planning an annual Easter egg hunt for the Ava community.
• Running fundraising events for members in need.

As a winner of the Fraternal Excellence Award, Lisa received a custom trophy and $2,500 to use toward another project in her community.

In 2023, chapters across the state of Illinois contributed over $2 million in support of social, educational, volunteer and fundraising activities, including total dollars raised by member chapters and youth clubs partnering with community groups.
