Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the 7th Meeting of Thailand-Chile Political Consultations with H.E. Mr. Rodrigo Olsen Olivares, Secretary-General for Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile, in Santiago, Chile.

On 6 August 2024, Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the 7th Meeting of Thailand-Chile Political Consultations with H.E. Mr. Rodrigo Olsen Olivares, Secretary-General for Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile, in Santiago, Chile.

The co-chairs shared domestic political, economic, or social developments in their respective countries. Both sides agreed to further promote bilateral meetings and exchanges of high-level visits. They also discussed ways to enhance existing cooperation, particularly, on economic front, trade and investment promotion, technical cooperation, cooperation in the fields of astronomy and start-ups, to name a few. Other potential areas of cooperation between Thailand and Chile, for instance, education as well as sports and tourism were also addressed.

In addition, both sides exchanged views on the global agenda and their respective regional developments. During the discussion, Thailand and Chile reaffirmed their commitments to strengthening their collaboration in international fora, especially in the frameworks of the UN, APEC as well as each country's application as member to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), respectively. They also discussed ASEAN-Pacific Alliance (PA) relations and cooperation.
