Rep. Schiff Announces Over $60 Million in Grants to Reduce Veteran Homelessness in and Around Los Angeles County

August 23, 2024

Washington, D.C.- Today, Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs will be distributing over $60 million in grant funding to support homeless and at-risk veterans and their families in Los Angeles County. These grants are part of a broader $800 million package to reduce veteran homelessness around the country.

"We can and must end veteran homelessness, and these grants represent a vital step toward fulfilling our promise to those who have served," said Rep. Schiff. "By investing in housing and comprehensive support services, we are taking meaningful action to restore dignity and security to our nation's veterans. I applaud the VA and the Biden-Harris Administration for their unwavering commitment to this cause - and will continue to fight for the resources our veterans deserve."

These funds will support the efforts of the United States Veterans Initiative, Mental Health America of Los Angeles, PATH, The Salvation Army, 1736 Family Crisis Center, Volunteers of America of Los Angeles, Village for Vets, and JVS SoCal with awards totaling just over $62 million.
