Recorder's Office Issues Warning on Unsolicited Text Msgs Claiming You Are Not Registered to Vote

As we edge closer to November's high-profile election, there are increasing reports of people receiving unsolicited text messages that claim that the recipient is not registered to vote.

The texts provide a link requesting the recipient click on it to register, and they are being sent regardless of whether the recipient is already registered to vote. The example text below was sent this week to a Pinal County resident who is already registered to vote.

Unfortunately, there is no way to control the third parties sending them. The Recorder's Office strongly suggests that you delete the message and not click on any links or engage with the text message.

To check your voter registration or to register to vote if you are not already registered, please visit my.arizona.vote. Alternatively, visit the Pinal VOTES website at www.pinal.gov/Pinalvotes and click the link to register to vote. This will take you to the Arizona Voter Information Portal, as seen in the screenshot below.
