Hooff’s Run Drive: Victim and Suspect Identified in Death Investigation

The Alexandria Police Department has identified the two deceased individuals in the shooting that took place at 305 Hooff's Run Drive, on Saturday, June 29, 2024. The two were known to each other.

The victim was 29-year-old Joshua Wilcox, of Maryland. The suspect was 30-year-old Charles Hewitt, of Washington, D.C., who succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

At approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, the Alexandria Police were called to 305 Hooff's Run Drive for the report of a shooting. Officers located two adult males with gunshot wounds, both of whom were transported to area hospitals. Both the victim and the suspect succumbed to their injuries.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the official cause and manner of death.
