Chris Saladine Hired as Assistant City Manager

September 23, 2024 - The City of Midland is pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Saladine as assistant city manager, effective today. He joins City Manager Brad Kaye and Assistant City Manager of Development Services Jacob Kain as part of the City's senior leadership team.

Saladine joins the City from the City of Mount Pleasant, where he most recently served as finance director and previously held administrative roles in fiscal services, information technology, public works, and the city clerk's office. Prior to the public sector, Saladine served as a staff accountant and IT systems administrator at Blystone & Bailey, CPAs, P.C. He holds an associate's degree in accounting from Delta College, a bachelor's degree in business administration from Northwood University, and a master's of public administration from Central Michigan University.

In his new role, Saladine will oversee the day-to-day operations of several City departments, act as the city manager's primary advisor on management and policy initiatives, serve as project manager for a variety of high-level special projects, and serve as acting city manager when needed, in addition to other responsibilities.

"His extensive experience in public service and his intricate knowledge of municipal financial management will allow him to contribute in important ways to our organization and, in turn, to the Midland community."
