Continuing Commitment to Improving Children's Health and Education, Matahari Distributes Customer Donations of 1.8 Billion Rupiah and Successfully Completes School Library Renovation Program

Matahari ("Company"; stock code: "LPPF") proudly announces the delivery of assistance through a series of CSR programs aimed at supporting children's welfare and education. These programs include the Customer Donation Program and the School Library Renovation initiative.

The Customer Donation Program, which has become an annual tradition for Matahari, allows customers to actively participate in poverty alleviation, improving people's welfare, and enhancing education for children in Indonesia. This year, Matahari partnered with the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation and the Indonesian Children's Cancer Foundation (YKAI) as beneficiary organizations.

Running during the Eid 2023 period, from March 1, 2023, to May 31, 2023, the Customer Donation Program successfully collected donations from customers totaling IDR 1,808,808,450. These generous contributions will be distributed through the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation and the Indonesian Children's Cancer Foundation (YKAI).

Out of the total donation, IDR 904,404,225 will be channeled through the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation to support various programs focused on child health, such as Stunting Prevention, Maternal and Child Health Programs, Healthy Indonesian Children Programs, Healthy Youth Programs, and Improved Sanitation.

"Dompet Dhuafa is honored to collaborate with Matahari in this meaningful program. Through the generous donations from Matahari's customers, we will be able to implement various programs that we've been agreed upon. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of Indonesian children," said Etika Setiawanti (Resource Mobilization Director of Dompet Dhuafa)

Similarly, donations channeled through YKAI, also amounting to IDR 904,404,225, will be utilized to assist children fighting cancer and provide support to their families. These funds will be allocated to YKAI programs, including Treatment, Transportation, Family Support, and Education.

"The support from Matahari and its customers will make a significant difference in the lives of children fighting cancer and their families. We are grateful for their generosity and commitment to our cause," stated Sallyana Sorongan (Chairman of the YKAI Foundation).

The Customer Donation Program has received an overwhelming response and collected significant donations was made possible thanks to the dedication and hard work of the cashier team at each Matahari store. The commitment and dedication of the cashier team have played a vital role in the success of the program, hence, to express gratitude and embody the value of Giving Back, Matahari extends its appreciation to the cashier team through Cashier Appreciation Program.

In addition to these initiatives, Matahari has demonstrated its commitment to children's education. In June 2023, the company successfully completed its school library renovation program, which involved the construction and renovation of school libraries in 10 locations across Indonesia. These locations include Kubu Raya (Kalimantan), Palembang, Semarang, Medan, Malang, Tangerang, Kab. Bogor, Palu (Sulawesi), East Jakarta, and Kupang (NTT).

The school library renovation program lasted for six months, from December 2022 to June 2023, utilizing the total of IDR 906,682,761 in funds, with the aim of creating a conducive environment for learning, empowering children, and enabling them to reach their full potential.

The ceremonial presentation of Customer Donations and symbolic awards took place at Matahari Taman Anggrek, West Jakarta, on Thursday, July 6, 2023. The donations were officially handed over by Herni Dian (Chief People & Culture Matahari) and Irwin Abuthan (Director Store Planning & Development Matahari) and received by Etika Setiawanti (Resource Mobilization Director of Dompet Dhuafa) and Sallyana Sorongan (Chairman of the YKAI Foundation).
