The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Babalwa Lobishe, today officially announced the new Mayoral Committee during a special event held at the Council Chambers, City Hall.
In her address, Mayor Lobishe reaffirmed her commitment to improving service delivery and fostering collaboration with various stakeholders, including civil society, businesses, State-owned enterprises, and community initiatives.
"In my acceptance speech, I committed to improving service delivery by partnering with civil society, businesses, local State-owned enterprises, sports groups, women's and youth initiatives, and municipal workers. I also promised to introduce the team dedicated to ensuring accountable governance, providing sustainable services, addressing environmental challenges, and promoting social and economic development," stated Mayor Lobishe.
The newly appointed Mayoral Committee Members (MMCs) and their portfolios are as follows:
1. Infrastructure and Engineering - Cllr Buyelwa Mafaya
2. Roads and Transport - Cllr Yolisa Pali-Jongilanga
3. Human Settlements - Cllr Thembinkosi Mafana
4. Safety and Security - Cllr Luyanda Lawu
5. Electricity and Energy - Cllr Ziyanda Mqokoyi
6. Budget and Treasury - Cllr Khanya Ngqisha
7. Public Health - Cllr Thsonono Buyeye
8. Sports, Recreation, Arts, and Culture - Cllr Bongekile Mankahla
9. Economic Development, Tourism, and Agriculture - Cllr Bassie
Kamana
10. Corporate Services - Cllr Mkhuseli Jack

The new Mayoral Committee will focus on accountable governance, sustainable service delivery, and promoting social and economic development while addressing environmental concerns.
