Nation’s Mayors Celebrate Third Anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

Washington, D.C.- Today, the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) celebrates the third anniversary of the enactment of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, better known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. USCM was a vocal advocate for the passage of the legislation, which makes historic investments in not only America's transportation systems, but in clean energy, water, broadband, and climate resilience. Marking the anniversary, USCM President Columbus (OH) Mayor Andrew Ginther released the following statement:

"The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is a testament to the transformative change we can achieve when working together to support our cities. It is a once-in-a-generation triumph, and already cities are benefiting from the law's investments. It goes beyond roads and bridges; the law is helping to create good-paying jobs, strengthening local economies, increasing access to reliable high-speed internet, responding to the climate crisis, and improving the health and lives of our residents. Mayors are also grateful to the Biden Administration for the close working relationship we've enjoyed, which has ensured that support is deployed effectively to maximize its local impact.

"This law has contributed enormously to the progress we've made and the strength of American cities. It shows what is possible when solutions come before politics. It should serve as inspiration as we continue to advocate for other meaningful federal investments, particularly in affordable housing.
