Take Metro-North to fun fall destinations

Good news for Hudson Line riders! This fall, we're running extra weekend trains for day-trippers into the scenic Hudson River Valley. Don't battle traffic while trying to spend a day leaf peeping or apple picking-these additions to weekend service will make traveling upstate a breeze.

Between October 6 and November 10, four additional trains will run between Grand Central and Poughkeepsie on Saturdays and Sundays. These trains are in addition to our regular trains on these routes.

If you're planning a trip to see fall foliage, you'll have a beautiful view from a Metro-North train, and you can plan your excursion around one of the quaint towns hugging the Hudson River. Peekskill, Cold Spring, and Beacon each have their own charms-and, in the case of Beacon, a world-class art museum-as well as Instagram-worthy views of the Hudson Highlands.

Looking for a more active trip? Don't miss the hiking trails at Breakneck Ridge and Manitou; just remember to ask the conductor which cars will open at those stations when you board the train. The Walkway Over The Hudson State Park in Poughkeepsie provides similarly stellar views but with a bit less physical exertion.
