Ohio Department of Aging Holds Eighth Well Beyond 60! EXPO at Ohio State Fair

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Thousands of older Ohioans attended the eighth Well Beyond 60! EXPO, hosted by the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) at the Ohio State Fair on Tuesday, celebrating Senior Day at the fair with free health screenings, wellness demonstrations, activities, giveaways, and more from nearly two dozen partner organizations in attendance.

Running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the EXPO's partner organizations interacted with fairgoers to share information about healthy choices they can make to ensure they live a healthier, more active life at age 60 and beyond.

At this year's Well Beyond 60! EXPO, interactive exhibitions included balance testing, brain challenges, fire safety information, stress reduction, technology to promote independent living, and much more.

Guests were able to test Ohio's new Nursing Home Quality Navigator - an online tool providing users detailed information about every nursing home in the state in one, convenient digital location: Aging.Ohio.gov/Navigator.

Visiting Ohioans were also able to learn about the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman and its efforts to inform attendees about ways the office advocates for the rights of Ohioans living in long-term care settings.

Additionally, guests had the opportunity to see what services are available to them locally at booths run by Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) from across Ohio. Other booths at the EXPO represented the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP).
