The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services (OES) is excited to share that the draft Humboldt County Recovery Annex was published for public review on Thursday, Nov. 14 at humboldtgov.org/EMplans.
This document serves as an annex to the Humboldt County Emergency Operations Plan, providing detailed guidance on disaster recovery efforts for the county. It is designed to help the region effectively rebuild after major emergencies or disasters by promoting collaborative planning and coordination.
The draft Humboldt County Recovery Annex follows a standardized, three-phase recovery approach standardized by all Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) regions. These phases, short-term, intermediate, and long-term, outline how recovery efforts evolve over time and emphasize collaboration between local, regional, state and federal agencies. The document also provides information on state and federal recovery programs, emergency proclamations, categories of damages and various laws and grants that can support disaster recovery efforts.
Share Your Input
The county invites all interested parties to review the draft Recovery Annex and submit comments and suggestions related to the document by Monday, Dec. 16.
A public comment form is provided at humboldtgov.org/EMPlans.
Following the public review period, Humboldt County OES will review all comments and add appropriate feedback. The updated Humboldt County Recovery Annex will then be presented to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors for formal approval.
