Weekly Lane Closure Advisory for the Interstate 85 @ State Route 42/North Druid Hills Project
WHAT: Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will close lanes around Interstate 85 at State Route (SR) 42/North Druid Hills Road for construction activities.

*NOTES: Work schedule updates can be made daily. Check project web page often for the latest updates. Detour information is shown using red text.

WHEN/WHERE: Traffic Impacts on I-85 and SR 42 from November 8, through November 16, 2024

Overnight Closures:

Friday, November 8, at 11 p.m. to Saturday, November 9, at 7 a.m.
(Backup Date: Saturday, November 9, at 11 p.m. to Sunday, November 10, at 7 a.m.)

Closures and Detours:

I-85 southbound at SR 42/North Druid Hills Road Full Closure

  • Motorists traveling on I-85 southbound should use SR 42/North Druid Hills Road off-ramp and continue straight to access I-85 southbound.
Friday, November 8, at 7 p.m. to Sunday, November 10, at 1 p.m.
  • One, left lane on I-85 southbound at SR 42/North Druid Hills Road (Continuous Weekend Closure)
  • One, left lane on I-85 northbound at SR 42/North Druid Hills Road (Continuous Weekend Closure)
  • Two, left lanes on I-85 southbound from Clairmont Road to Cheshire Bridge Road (Friday night only: starts at 10 p.m. | ends at 7 a.m.)
  • Two, left lanes on I-85 northbound from Cheshire Bridge Road to Clairmont Road (Saturday night only: starts at 11 p.m. | ends at 8 a.m.)
Saturday, November 9, at 11 p.m. to Sunday, November 10, at 7 a.m.
(Backup Date: Sunday, November 10, at 11 p.m. to Monday, November 11, at 5 a.m.)

  • Motorists traveling on I-85 northbound should use SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound off-ramp and I-85 northbound Frontage Road to access I-85 northbound.
Monday, November 11, to Wednesday, November 13, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two lanes on I-85 southbound Frontage Road from Briarwood Court to SR 42/North Druid Hills Road
  • Two, right lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound from W. Druid Hills Drive to I-85 (starts at 9 p.m.)
  • Three, left lanes on I-85 northbound at SR 42/North Druid Hills Road (starts at 11 p.m.)

  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound to I-85 southbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access I-85 southbound.
  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound to I-85 southbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access I-85 southbound.
  • Motorists traveling on Corporate Drive to I-85 southbound should use I-85 southbound Frontage Road, SR 42/North Druid Hills Road, I-85 northbound Frontage Road, and Clairmont Road to access I-85 southbound.
Monday, November 11, to Saturday, November 16, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • One, right lane on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound from I-85 to Briarcliff Road
  • One, right lane on Old Executive Park Drive northbound from SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to Ortho Lane (starts at 8 p.m.)
Thursday, November 14, to Friday, November 15, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Pacing on SR42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound & westbound from I-85 northbound Frontage Road to Briarcliff Road (starts at 9 p.m.)
