On November 7th, officers arrested a 45-year-old man in connection to a series of recent gunfire incidents in the south campus.
On November 7th, officers arrested a 45-year-old man in connection to a series of recent gunfire incidents in the south campus.
On October 26th at about 12:15 am, officers responded to a series of gunfire incidents in the south campus area. After speaking with witnesses and reviewing video surveillance from the area, detectives were able to identify a suspect and obtain a warrant for his arrest. Both Shot Spotter and ALPR technologies were instrumental in this investigation.
On the morning of November 7th, members of the Department's Special Response Team performed a warrant service at a private residence in San Francisco-where the suspect (a 45-year-old San Francisco man) was arrested on suspicion of PC 245(a)(2)-assault on a person with a firearm, PC 246-willfully discharging a firearm at an occupied building or vehicle, PC 247(b)-discharging a firearm at an unoccupied building or vehicle, PC 246.3 PC-discharging a firearm in a negligent manner, and other weapon related offenses.
During the warrant service, detectives seized several handguns, assault rifles, and ammunition. This case remains under investigation.
