Knox Covered Bridge (Yellow Springs Road) Closed Due to Tree Damage in Valley Forge National Historical Park

King of Prussia, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Knox Covered Bridge over Valley Creek has been closed due to tree damage in Valley Forge National Historical Park, Tredyffrin Township, Chester County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because slowdowns may occur. All activities are weather dependent.

Knox Covered Bridge (Yellow Springs Road) will remain closed as highway engineers determine the extent of the damage and develop a plan to repair the bridge.

Built in 1865, the covered steel stringer bridge is 55-feet-long, 12-feet-wide, and carries about 1,604 vehicles per day.
