The following players will be at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK on 7 September, when Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski take to the Dortmund pitch for the last time in a BVB shirt (kick-off 17:00 CEST).

His scenes of jubilation after the decisive 2-0 win in the derby in May 2007, which denied Schalke the chance to win the league title, are unforgettable: Ebi Smolarek, 43, joined BVB from Feyenoord in the 2004/2005 winter break - initially on loan for six months - and immediately became a crowd favourite: Poland's three-time Footballer of the Year (2005, 2006 and 2007) may have been small in stature at just 1.78 metres, but he was a dangerous goalscorer in Black & Yellow before leaving the club for Spain in 2007. Although Smolarek didn't play for BVB at the same time as Kuba and Piszczu, he ran out for the Poland national team alongside them.

\n

Mladen Petric, 43, only played for BVB for one season, 2007/08, in which alongside Koba he helped BVB reach the DFB-Pokal final in Berlin. The former Croatia international scored a late equaliser in the final against Bayern Munich to make it 1-1 and take the game to extra-time. Although BVB went on to lose 2-1, Petric had made a name for himself at BVB with 13 goals and strong performances as the club's starting centre-forward before moving to league rivals Hamburger SV.

From 2006 to 2010, a Brazilian dazzled the Bundesliga in Black & Yellow - Paulo Cesar Fonseca do Nascimento, 46, is better known to Borussia fans by his nickname: Tinga. The midfielder not only stood out on the pitch with his unique hairstyle, but above all with his irrepressible fighting spirit, which helped the Black & Yellows reach the DFB-Pokal final in 2008. The Brazilian played together with Kuba for a total of three years in Dortmund.

\n

Kuba and Piszczek had already played together at BVB for two years when Julian Schieber, 35, joined the club in 2012. The centre-forward impressed the BVB fans with his style on and off the pitch and became the hero of the night against Manchester City in the final group game of the 2012/13 Champions League season: the Borussian scored the 1-0 winner after an assist from Kuba, ensuring that BVB emerged unbeaten as group winners over Man City, Real Madrid and Ajax and later fought their way to the final in London. In 2014, Schieber moved to league rivals Hertha BSC.

\n

Sokratis Papastathopoulos, 36, played with both Kuba and Piszczek during his five years in Black & Yellow and crowned his time at BVB (2013 to 2018) by winning the DFB-Pokal in 2017. In addition to his iron-hard defensive play, \"Papa\" was particularly popular with BVB fans for his down-to-earth attitude: he used to drive to training in Brackel in his white Fiat 500. The centre-back played 198 competitive matches for Borussia before signing for Premier League club Arsenal in 2018.

\n

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl and head coach Nuri Sahin as well as former players Marcel Schmelzer, Kevin Grosskreutz, Roman Weidenfeller, Patrick Owomoyela, Dede, Moritz Leitner, Florian Kringe, Mohamed Zidan, Neven Subotic and Antonio da Silva have already confirmed their attendance at the testimonial match. Further players and coaches will be announced in the next few days.
