The Beauty of Tradition: GMDT’s The Nutcracker Thanksgiving Weekend

MARIETTA, GA - A strong Marietta tradition for 68 years now, Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre (GMDT), housed in the studios of the Georgia Dance Conservatory, will kick off the holiday season with their timeless rendition of the ballet The Nutcracker on November 29th - December 1st at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre.

The 2024/25 GMDT company is comprised of dancers seven years-old to graduating high school seniors who train daily at Georgia Dance Conservatory (GDC) on the Marietta Square.

Visions of sugar plums, waltzing flowers and dancing snowflakes all come to life in this captivating classic, GMDT's The Nutcracker. Experience it all: brilliant sets, dazzling costumes, and magical special effects that spark awe and wonder alongside Tchaïkovsky's glorious music. GMDT's The Nutcracker also welcomes back professional dancers D Patton White as Godfather Drosselmeyer and Mother Ginger; Raul Peinado as Snow King and Firebird male; Alex Gonzaga as Sugar Plum Cavalier; and GMDT alum Jarrod Harrell as Nutcracker Prince.
