Rosen Celebrates Ribbon Cutting of Reno Police Department’s New Public Safety Building

RENO, NV - Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) celebrated the ribbon cutting for the new Public Safety Center in downtown Reno, which will soon serve as the headquarters for the Reno Police Department. In her remarks, Senator Rosen highlighted the critical work the Reno Police Department does to keep the community safe and how the new headquarters will help advance that mission. She also reaffirmed her ongoing efforts to support and fund law enforcement agencies across Nevada.

"The work that law enforcement officers do across Nevada is critical to the safety and wellbeing of our communities," said Senator Rosen. "I was proud to join the Reno Police Department in celebrating the ribbon cutting of their new Public Safety Center in the heart of downtown, which will help them be closer to the Nevadans they serve and respond to emergencies faster. I'll continue working across party lines to support Nevada's law enforcement and make sure they get the federal funding they need to do their jobs effectively and safely."

Senator Rosen has been working to support Nevada's law enforcement community and ensure it has the resources needed to fight crime and keep communities safe. Earlier this year, bipartisan legislation she helped pass to address the police officer shortage and hire and retain more police officers was signed into law. She also secured over $7 million for law enforcement projects across Nevada through the Fiscal Year 2024 government funding bill, including for the Reno Police Department. Last year, Senator Rosen secured millions of dollars for law enforcement and first responders in the 2023 funding bill, ensuring these critical funds were delivered to communities across the state to support new projects, equipment, and mental health and wellness programs for officers.
