Update:
The Homicide Unit has continued investigating the murder of 33-year-old, Shawn Douglas THOMAS that occurred on October 18, 2024 in the 800 block of College Avenue.
Investigators have identified a 31-year-old male, Karl Earl SETTEE of Winnipeg as a suspect and a warrant for Manslaughter has been issued.
WANTED - Manslaughter

As previously released:
On October 18, 2024, at approximately 5:35 p.m., The Winnipeg Police Service responded to a call for service regarding an unresponsive male in the 800 block of College Avenue.
Attending officers provided emergency medical care before the male was transported to hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced deceased in hospital.
The deceased victim has been identified as 33-year-old, Shawn Douglas THOMAS. THOMAS was a member of Peguis First Nation and resided in Winnipeg.
The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and family notifications have been made.
